Black Water at Lamp Post

Saturday April 2nd I ventured out to The Lamp Post, down on 2nd Street in Jersey City to check out Black Water, with some friends.  Joe Condiracci of the Lamp Post has been running some quality shows lately and I wanted to get out to show my support for another supporter of the local scene. Another unsung hero of the scene, Norm Francoeur, was on hand with his signature lighting effects as well.

Black water is Adam Copeland (vox, guitar) Gerry G. Griffin V (vox, bass) Gary Laurie, Esq (guitar) Lloyd L. Naideck (drums).  These fellas are cut and dry rock & roll.  Hard slamming drums, catchy guitar licks and brash vocals, if I didn’t know better I’d guess their E.P. Disasters was written and recorded in the mid 70’s.  Naideck’s drumming is really something to watch live. The guy’s a whirling dervish!  Griffin answers Copeland’s vocals as Laurie shreds out.  It’s a perfect recipe for a Saturday Night! I got a video of Drugstore Model (see Below).

After the show we shared a few stories, some drinks (Ok a lot of drinks, Whiskey was a feature of the evening)  But soon it was time to head home.  We staggered our separate ways, and wondered off,  ears ringing and livers working overtime.
